Is malaysia a racist country?

cause ive been hearing a lot from malaysia,that it supress the rights of non malay,like chinese and indians,even if your muslim as long as your not malay you will not have the priveleges like discounts and everything that a malay get to enjoy,i also found out that their are tensions going on in malaysia now especially the indians side,and their is one article i was quite intrigue,especially when it says that chinese never regard themselves as malaysians at first,and they think malay malaysians are lazy and just jealous to them,and that malay malaysians think chinese as selfish and malay indians as just trouble on the country..why is it that their are distinguishment?shouldnt it be that malaysia has it's people called malaysians as a whole?regardless of race,religion or ethnicity?
