What's the purposes of washing the filter disk containing the solids with 3 sucessive rinse of distilled water

to clean them.. personally i've never been told to do it three times specifically, but it's a good way of making sure your solids have no solvent left on them and are pure for when you do mp tests or other id tests on them.
