Where to get tracks for free?'?

well, i'm a singer but i don't have the enough resources to pay to myself a track, i want to find some to sing, but i want to dawnload them from the internet for free, i was just looking them at limewire and ares but there are not enough i want to find some of dido, vanessa carlton, and that kind of.... and another kinds too. i would be pleased if you plese let me know where.. lol
