Is there a word for such a set of beliefs?

I am writing a book about "sensations" the seven initiations of God in our lives. I think that some "subjects" are more sensitive than others, and that in feeling what is to be real or not, makes you wonder if a poem can really capture the essence of the poet who wrote it.
