Are the 2000s reminescent of the late '70s?

I mean, unpopular president, unpopular war, crappy economy, energy crisis, & The eagles are on tour. Whadaya think? My Dad is stoked on it 'cuz that means the 2010s will be like the '80s. Your thoughts?
