It's not an ankle injury, it's his knee. A friend has family who works at the Detroit Medical Center (where the team's docs work through), and they said its a grade 2 sprained MCL, but that's just hearsay. He's definitely out for game 1 (that came out in the news today), but is still listed as day-to-day. With treatments, he could be back on the ice before the first series is over.
